Reflection: How These Changes Will Transform Your Life
Making these changes will bring greater balance and fulfillment into your life. You’ll feel more in control, aligned with your goals, and free from the weight of things you no longer need. Without these changes, you may continue to feel disconnected, stressed, or unfulfilled, always wondering what could have been. Take inventory, take action, and step into the life you truly desire. Get a coach or therapist to help guide you on your path if you need it. This can be a huge help in navigating conditioning and uncertainty.
Stepping Up to Face Your Mistakes: The Power of Admitting When You’re Wrong
Being able to take a step back and recognize when we’re acting out of alignment with who we know we truly are is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. It opens the door to self-compassion and allows us to dig deep and figure out the root cause of our reactions. Unfortunately, many of us aren’t always willing to confront what we’ve been burying for years.
Admitting when you’re wrong is one of the hardest things we can do. Our emotions often get tangled up in what we believe to be true in the moment, but that “truth” is sometimes colored by our past experiences and the stories we’ve created to protect ourselves when we feel uneasy or threatened.
The Courage to Look Within
Through deep introspection, we can trace the source of our behaviors, often back to childhood. Our reactions are shaped by early experiences, and we develop certain ways of protecting ourselves. But to truly heal and grow, we need to soften in those moments of discomfort. As one of my spiritual advisors once told me, we must get underneath the emotions—beneath the fear and the protective layers—to uncover the truth.
This isn’t easy work. But the first step is to remain compassionate, open, and curious about your own behavior. By staying in a state of self-inquiry, you create the space to reflect on why you may have responded in a way you’re not proud of.
Forgiving Yourself and Taking Responsibility
When you can see where you’ve created stories or false scenarios, it becomes easier to forgive yourself. From there, you can genuinely apologize for any actions or words that don’t align with your values. Whether or not the other person accepts your apology, this process shows character. It’s a reflection of your growth and the person you are becoming.
Not everyone will be ready to hear your apology, and that’s okay. Sometimes, we’ve gone too far, and it’s not about the other person’s response, but rather about your ability to own your mistakes and learn from them. Admitting when you’re wrong helps you reorganize the energy within yourself, giving you the strength to make a different choice the next time.
The Power of Pausing and Listening to Your Body
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned from my spiritual teachers is to pay attention to what’s happening in my body when difficult emotions arise. For me, it feels like a tightness in my chest, sweaty palms, and a racing heart—all signals that my body is in a fight-or-flight response, fueled by fear and old patterns of self-protection.
When I notice these sensations, I practice pausing and breathing. This doesn’t always come easily or perfectly, but it helps me to break the cycle. When I do fall out of alignment, what helps me most is admitting it to myself. Acknowledging my misstep puts me in a vulnerable place, but isn’t true healing about stepping into that vulnerability?
Embracing Vulnerability and Growth
Admitting you’re wrong takes courage. It requires you to be vulnerable and to let go of pride or ego. But in that vulnerability, there’s strength. There’s an opportunity to shift your behavior and move forward with greater awareness and compassion.
I admire everyone who is brave enough to look at themselves and strive for change. You are all connecting to that higher version of who you are, creating tools to help guide you toward your highest potential. We are all worthy of making mistakes, and we are all capable of learning from them.
The next time you find yourself not proud of how you’ve acted, try this: Be vulnerable. Admit your mistake. Apologize sincerely, and express gratitude for the lesson it’s teaching you. This process will help you make a better choice next time.
We Are All Works in Progress
Remember, we’re all doing the best we can. But we must also recognize when we’re repeating the same mistakes over and over again. I’ve been working on my reactions for years, and I still find myself struggling at times. My intention is always to be kind and grateful, but old fears and feelings of unsafety sometimes take over. When I respond in ways I regret, admitting I was wrong helps me reset and move forward.
So, when you’re not proud of your actions, take a breath. Be vulnerable. Own up to your mistakes with compassion for yourself. Doing so will empower you to make better choices and move closer to the person you’re striving to become.
I see you. I validate your journey. And I hold space for you in your healing.
With love and light,
Jess
The 5 Principles of Usui Reiki: How They Help Transform My Life
As a Level 3 Usui Reiki Master, Reiki has become an integral part of my life. It has not only deepened my understanding of energy healing but has also profoundly transformed the way I approach life itself. Reiki brought me more understanding, compassion, and gratitude, changing my perspective and allowing me to live with greater peace and purpose. At the core of this transformation are the 4 Principles of Usui Reiki, which I incorporate into my daily practice and share with those I guide on their own Reiki journeys.
The 5 Principles of Usui Reiki And How They Help Transform My Life
As a Level 3 Usui Reiki Master, Reiki is an integral part of my life. It not only deepens my understanding of energy healing but also profoundly transforms the way I approach life itself. Reiki brings me more understanding, compassion, and gratitude and connects me with my intuition and internal guidance., changing my perspective and allowing me to live with greater peace and purpose as I navigate my own challenges—we all have our stuff! These five principles, if practiced, can be a starting point at any time for you to recenter and refocus your energy and connect back to your body instead of your head.
1. Just for today, I will not be angry.
Anger can be a be a big part of my life, leaving me feeling disconnected and frustrated. I have done a lot of work around this emotion, but still “in progress” When I started practicing Reiki, I learned how to let go of that anger more quickly. I began to notice what triggers it, feel it in my body, and find ways to get it out of my head. Breathwork works wonders for this. Anger just drains my energy and clouds my perspective. The first principle, "Just for today, I will not be angry," has taught me the power of embracing inner peace. By choosing to release anger, I’ve found a sense of calm and clarity that has really improved my relationships and overall well-being. Sometimes, it means letting go of the things—and even people or circumstances—that we're angry about and setting boundaries to protect our peace.
2. Just for today, I will not worry.
Worry is another constant companion in my life, keeping me stuck in cycles of anxiety and doubt. Reiki teaches me the value of living in the present moment. The second principle, "Just for today, I will not worry," helps me trust in the natural flow of life. By focusing on the here and now, I find that many of my fears are unfounded and simply made-up stories. I want to let go of worry and experience life with greater ease and confidence. This shift not only reduces my anxiety but also brings me a deeper sense of trust in the universe and in myself.
3. Just for today, I will be grateful.
Gratitude is one of the most transformative aspects of my Reiki journey. The third principle, "Just for today, I will be grateful," reshapes my outlook on life. By making a conscious effort to practice gratitude daily, I begin to see the beauty and abundance in every moment. Let’s be real—it’s not all peachy and good all the time, but gratitude brings you back home to your highest vibration. I do this mainly in teh morning and write 3-5 things that I am grateful for. This shift in perspective brings me more joy and contentment throughout my day. Gratitude is one of the foundations of my spiritual practice, opening my heart to the world and deepening my compassion for others, and also for myself. Who can relate to being their own worst critic?
4. Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Integrity and honesty have always mattered in my work, but Reiki has given me a fresh perspective on these qualities. The fourth principle, "Just for today, I will do my work honestly," helps me stay true to myself in everything I do. Whether I'm running my dance studio, giving a Reiki session, coaching, working out (because fitness keeps me grounded and content), or just handling everyday tasks, I aim to do it all with sincerity and dedication.
Does it happen every day? UMMM, no—but this principle gives me a deeper sense of purpose and fulfillment, knowing that I'm living in line with my values and positively impacting the world around me.
5. Just for today, I will be kind
Kindness is something we all have within us, but the stress of daily life can throw us off course. When we're frustrated and stressed, it’s easy to let those feelings seep out, making us come across as snappy or rude. It’s a tough spot to be in—you know you're a good person, but when something has you all wound up, it’s hard not to snap at the first person who triggers you.
The fifth principle “Just for today, I will be kind.” helps get me back on track and connected to my higher self. Messing up is inevitable, but if you slip up, forgive yourself and try again. You can restart as many times as you need until noticing and reflecting becomes your go-to, instead of lashing out.
How Reiki Changes My Life
Reiki is like a guiding light for me, helping me find more understanding, compassion, and gratitude in my life. The five principles of Usui Reiki are the backbone of my daily practice, giving me the tools to handle life’s ups and downs with grace and resilience as well as connecting me to my true feminine energy. As a Level 3 Reiki Master, I’m all about sharing these principles with others, hoping they can feel the same deep transformation that Reiki has brought into my life.
With Gratitude,
Jess
What is a Life Coach?
Life coaching focuses on personal development, helping clients set and achieve goals through guidance, accountability, and confidence-building. Unlike traditional therapy, which delves into textbook explanations from a licensed therapist who cannot share their own personal experiences, life coaching is cumulative, forward-looking, and action-oriented. My approach combines practical strategies with spiritual practices like meditation, Reiki, and intuitive insights to help you unlock your potential and live a purpose-driven life. With compassion and a non-judgmental space, I guide you to discover your true self and achieve your dreams.
What is a Life Coach, and What Kind of Life Coach Am I?
In today’s fast-paced world, many people seek guidance to navigate life’s challenges, achieve their goals, and find deeper meaning in their lives. This is where a life coach comes in. But what exactly is a life coach, and how do they differ from traditional therapists? Let’s dive into these questions and explore the unique approach I bring to life coaching.
What is a Life Coach?
A life coach is a professional who supports and empowers individuals to achieve their personal and professional goals. Unlike traditional therapy, which often focuses on textbook solutions, life coaching is introspective and forward-looking. It’s about helping you clarify your vision for the future, seeing what is holding you back from your past, setting actionable goals, and taking concrete steps toward achieving them.
Life coaches guide their clients to find their own answers, rather than prescribing solutions. The process is collaborative, with the coach and client working together to create a plan that aligns with the client’s values and aspirations. A life coach also helps build confidence, establish routines, and provide accountability—ensuring that progress is made and goals are met.
The Difference Between Life Coaching and Traditional Therapy
While both life coaching and therapy aim to improve the client’s well-being, they differ significantly in their approach and focus. Traditional therapy often delves into valuable but general conditions. It is typically led by a licensed mental health professional who is trained to diagnose and treat mental health conditions and who can not share their own personal perspective.
Life coaching, on the other hand, is more about personal development and empowerment. As a life coach, my role is to help you identify where you want to go in life and support you in getting there. I don’t diagnose or treat mental health conditions. Instead, I work with you to create a vision for your future, set goals, and develop strategies to achieve them. I also provide ongoing support and accountability, helping you stay on track and motivated.
What Kind of Life Coach Am I?
My approach to life coaching is deeply influenced by my own life experiences and specialized training. I believe that true transformation comes from within, and my role is to guide you in tapping into your inner wisdom and potential. Here’s how I do that:
Real-Life Experience and Authenticity: I bring my own experiences into our coaching sessions, sharing insights and lessons learned along my journey. I’m real with you, and I encourage you to be real with yourself. Together, we’ll explore your challenges, dreams, and aspirations in a safe and non-judgmental space.
Guiding You to Your Own Answers: I believe that you have the answers within you, even if they’re not immediately apparent. My role is to help you uncover those answers through powerful questioning, active listening, and intuitive guidance. This process not only leads to clarity but also empowers you to trust yourself and your decisions.
Creating Goals and Establishing Routines: Once we’ve identified your goals, we’ll work together to create a plan to achieve them. This includes establishing routines and habits that support your growth and success. I’ll help you break down your goals into manageable steps, so you can make consistent progress without feeling overwhelmed.
Providing Accountability: One of the key benefits of working with a life coach is having someone to hold you accountable. I’ll check in with you regularly to ensure you’re staying on track and making the progress you desire. This accountability helps you stay motivated and committed to your goals.
Building Confidence: Throughout our coaching journey, I’ll support you in building confidence and self-belief. As you achieve your goals and overcome challenges, you’ll develop a stronger sense of self and a greater belief in your abilities.
Adding a Spiritual Twist
What sets my coaching apart is the spiritual dimension I bring to the table. I incorporate practices like meditation, energy healing, and Reiki into our sessions, which can enhance your personal growth and well-being.
Meditation: Meditation is a powerful tool for quieting the mind, reducing stress, and gaining clarity. It helps you connect with your inner self and access deeper insights. In our sessions, I’ll guide you through meditations that align with your goals and intentions. Regular meditation can also improve focus, emotional regulation, and overall mental health.
Energy Healing and Reiki: As an Usui Reiki Level III Master, I use energy healing techniques to help balance your energy, release blockages, and promote overall well-being. Energy healing can support your physical, emotional, and spiritual health, creating a solid foundation for achieving your goals.
Intuitive Insights: I often receive intuitive “pings” or insights during our sessions, which I share with you to enhance our work together. These insights can provide additional clarity and guidance, helping you make decisions that are aligned with your true self.
Compassion and Non-Judgment: Above all, I approach our work together with compassion and non-judgment. I’m here to support you, no matter where you are on your journey. You can trust that our sessions are a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals.
Conclusion
Life coaching is a powerful tool for personal growth and transformation. My approach blends practical goal-setting and accountability with spiritual practices like meditation, energy healing, and intuitive guidance. If you’re ready to unlock your highest potential, elevate your life’s energy, and live with purpose and passion, I’m here to guide you on that journey. Let’s work together to create the life you were meant to live.
If this resonates, reach out to me! I am here to be your source of support.
